Let Your Friends Know!

Have a friend that is interested in ASB, but missed the deadline???

If so, forward this message:

If you are interested in going on an international Alternative Break this spring, you are in luck! We have just a few openings on our international trips dealing with education and indigenous rights.
International trips cost$1225 and include airfare, lodging, most meals, and transportation in your location. Pretty much, everything is included!
e-mail asb.participate@gmail.com if you would like to apply!
Don’t miss out!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Hello Folks!

I wanted to send a quick email to remind you all that there is NO Site Leader meeting tonight. Our next meeting will be next Tuesday (11/30/10) at 9:00 PM.  It will cover logistical deadlines, Danae will discuss Adopt-A-Breaker in more detail, and we will introduce Month of Service planning.

During your break from school please relax and enjoy some turkey (or tofurkey)!!

I encourage you to read this brief article about changing the name of Thanksgiving [http://www.progressive.org/mpwellington112210.html].

Or this article about indian humor [Indian Humor During Thanksgiving Week? Ha Ha!].  Excerpt: "Oh, you're a vegetarian? In my language" -- it does not matter which language -- "vegetarian translates as`bad hunter.'"

Have a great break!!

PS.  If you haven't been able to log in to our online payment system please let me know so I can correct this problem.

November 15th

Hey Folks,

Thanks for making this year's retreat a success!!  Your enthusiasm, dinosaur noises, and competitive skills during capture the flag made this past weekend a blast.

Moving on, we have a Site Leader meeting tomorrow at 9:00 PM in Natural Sciences 304.  Note that this is not Erickson Hall as we have had previous Site Leader meetings.  Please remember to bring your Handbooks!

Also this week, we have our ASB KICK OFF PARTY!  This is such a fun event where you all get to meet your participants!!!  It will start promptly at 7:00 PM in the Erickson Kiva.

Dan Na (our Participant Coordinator) emailed your participant lists last night so please send them an email introducing yourself, the issue you are working with, and a reminder to attend the wicked ASB Kick Off Party.  It might be helpful to include that you will be holding astunning trip poster and will be wearing an ORANGE ASB t-shirt!  Remember to CC my email (asb.siteleader@gmail.com) to ensure that I receive all your trip communication so that I can stay in the loop.

Have a great week!!
